I qualified as an Occupational Therapist from Teesside University in 2006, and have worked within Acute, Rehabilitation, and Forensic mental health settings, my current role is Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist for Adult Mental Health Acute In-Patients and Rehabilitation services.
I am also active within the Royal College of Occupational Therapy ; and along with seven other Occupational Therapist in our spare time run #OTALK – a weekly Twitter chat about occupational therapy, every Tuesday 8pm. We will be celebrating our 8th Birthday in October 2019
I’m interested in how a person’s mental health impacts; on their daily lives and how engaging in creative activity aids the Recovery Process. Other special interests include Psychiatric intensive care units (PICU’s), Group work, Creative activities, Recovery, the experience of the disabled Occupational Therapists and Social Media as a CPD tool.
Over recent year I have become more interesting in exploring and understanding feminism, and would microbe myself as a intersectional feminist.
